About Jason Goins
I have had the privilege of serving in various law enforcement roles for 32 years and have led hundreds of successful criminal, civil, and personnel investigations, including high-level, confidential internal affairs investigations. I have served as the investigator and have also been charged with making final determinations regarding employee discipline.
My background includes ten years as detective sergeant for the Merced County Sheriff's Office. During that time, we had the highest rate of solving major crimes in the department's history.
I was later promoted to lieutenant, before being named the county's Undersheriff in 2015. I proudly served in that role as second-in-command until retiring in March of 2021.
I continue to have a passion for investigations and the training and experience to support it, including a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Management and a graduate certificate from the University of Virginia in Criminal Justice. I am also a graduate of the FBI National Academy - Session 248.
I am committed to providing detailed investigations that are fair and impartial to support healthy work environments for all. I am a licensed private investigator through the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. License No. PI189231
